I've had a two year infection on my lower chin. It was diagnosed as MRSA and I have been on Clindamycin maintenence since. It started with a VERY painful lump on 2/2013 that my oldest daughter drained because of the pain. It oozed a thick golden liquid and up popped numerous blisters-MRSA. Two months ago I was sent to ENT/Derm and the MRSA was gone, but not that lump. The skin had healed over, but that hard lump was there underneath and there was now a 2nd one. A huge blister formed, then burst. The skin surrounding it was thin & papery like a sunburn blister. That hard center was there, but it also was very red and swollen and some of the skin peeled away and was raw and hurting really bad. They gave me hydrocortizone cream, told me to cover it and to keep taking the clindamycin. Now the hard lump is there as is the new smaller one. My whole chin is burning red and swollen and I'm miserable. I just received a Plastic Surgery consult. I'm pretty depressed because I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary of dealing with this. My skin is mottled and disfigured. I don't know what this is....really. Depending on the doctor, I either get treated with respect or am just treated poorly because it's not going away. For two years I've been telling them that the original hard pimple like thing never went away and is always the source of it recurring. I've asked them, begged them to please go in and get it out, but they just givr me more medicine and ointments. It's just awful Please help.
