Jaw Pain In Parotid Region, Sores In Mouth. History Of Bulimia. Treatment Options?
Hi. I am experiencing unilateral jaw pain in my parotid region. I also have a small sore in my mouth. The sore is nontender, but my jaw hurts, and it gets worse with eating and to the touch. It started two days ago. I have recently had a recurrence of bulimia which I have not had for 2 years, but only two episodes. I have been using a hot compress on my face, and it seems to help a little.
Hello,
I can understand what is going on in your mind. Bulimia is a condition where in you tend to eat much more than any average person can eat in a period of 2 hours and this occurs atleast 2 times a week for 3 months to diagnose bulimia. You fail to control your eating and tend to eat much more. Then the next step is purging. With the guilt in mind they purge and try to vomit . This is done mostly by inserting finger inside the mouth and rubbing the tongue. In this process they tend to traumatize the neighbouring tissue like parotid region and rest of the mouth.
These ulcers heal very fast thanks to the rich vasularity of the mouth and what they need at the max is a course of amoxycillin and few pain killers like diclofenac or nimesulide. Binge behaviour is controlled by Fluoxetine and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Hope I am able to solve your concerns.
Thanks. Have a nice day.
Hello there,
From your symptoms it seems that the raktagat amlata (blood pH is increased);also you are a patient of bulimia. This also increases amlata. Your disease co relates with rasa(lymph)+rakata(blood)+mamsa(muscle) according to ayurveda. Just give hot salt water shower to your face. This gives the excellent result to the jaw pain due to any cause.Tab pravalpanchamrut (2-2-2) is also helpful with milk.
