Just come off 80mg slow release inderal (propranolol) for blood pressure as felt awful on them-hives sweating in the evening and night, felt flat emotionally and more anxious. Doctor has given me now 5mg Amlodipine Teva one a day and have just taken one but I am terrified having just read the blogs about awful side effects and that it has been banned in Holland. My blood pressure this morning was 160/100 and I was very anxious in the Doctor's as yesterday on the inderal at home it was 125/93. What do you suggest? I feel like not taking anything if this new tablet has been banned in Holland. I am 59 and gave up smoking for 11 days cold turkey in April just after I started taking the beta blocker-found it all too much and down now to 7 cigarettes a day with a view to giving up after the summer when we are due to retire and move country.
