Knee Injury, Painful To Stand, Feeling Of Knee Needing To Pop
Hi, I was at a party when some guy came up and jumped on my back while I wasn t ready. I fell down and landed on my knee funny, with it out the side, I had to go home after that as it hurt way too much to stand up. The pain went away after 1-2 days after the incident. My knee does not give me trouble while I walk now. But when I bend at the knee it feels weird at the top of the knee cap, it s not painful but has the feeling like it needs to pop, Thanks
Hello,
Feeling of instability or popping of knee while doing activity or at rest should not be taken lightly. it signifies some internal derangement of the knee. because of the inherent unstable nature of the knee joint and its vulnerability to trauma, the soft tissues like ligaments of the knee joint gets torn resulting in instability and if not properly treated can result in chronic instability. the tear can be very partial to complete tears.
in your case it looks like that tear is minimal and all that is needed is bracing of knee joint for 6 weeks. but exact nature of the injury can only be seen with MRI. so it is advisable to consult orthopedic surgeon and let him decide.
take care.
