Knee Injury, Swollen, Hurts To Walk. What Does This Mean?
Hi I ran into the corner of a wall with my knee , right on the center of my knee cap. This has happened to me before, it s been painful but the pain has gone away after a short while. This time around it was very painful lasted for a while and noticed it was pinkish and a little swollen, hurting when I began walking and going up the stairs also getting up when I m sitting. As the day has progressed it continues to hurt while doing the above and it has swelled more. What go u think this can mean? Thank u and I await ur response.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.
In the interim, take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
Regards.
