Knee Pain. Ripped MCL And KCL. Advised Knee Surgeries. Measures To Manage Pain?
My daughter had knee surgery in april. Her mcl is ripped and is soft. It only last a couple months. Now she needs full knee replacement. She was told she has severe arthritis in it from surgerys. She has ripped ACL & MCL in same knee. She doesnt have medical anymore. She hasn't been able to work since December. She was crying last night in her sleep she is so much pain. What can help the pain?
When there is pain, you have to use painkillers depending upon the severity of pain. If the pain is severe and incapacitating, Narcotic analgesics are helpful. If it is of mild to moderate in intensity, NSAID's like Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, Piroxicam will work.
Apply ice to the painful area once in 2-3 hours. Ice will help calm the inflammatory response and decreases the pain sensation.
All the analgesics (painkillers) only suppress the pain but they never treat the underlying cause of pain. So, in your daughter's case, the underlying pathology has to be treated to completely get rid off pain.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
