Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had left TKR1/2 weeks ago and have been doing well. Got my bend to 90 degrees as they wanted. Working with my therapist yesterday she maneuvered my knee and caused severe pain. She automatically said SCAR TISSUE. I have broken through scar tissue before, it hurts briefly then goes away. Not only did this last several hours, I was up all night with pain. I can no longer straighten my leg and am having increased pain with walking. What do I do mow? She is coming back in 2 days.
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
As you have recently undergone major surgery, Knee placement It is not unusual to have pain in the operated joint.
Some degree of movements are always painful in physiotheraphy. please tolerate the pain or take any Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs like Ibuprofen for pain. Leaving the operated joint without any physical activity may result in muscle wasting and disuse atrophy.
Please follow your Orthopedician and Physiotherapist advice.
Hope this helps. Please reply for further queries. Wishing you good health Regards, Dr.Manjeth kumar.G
