Knee Replacement Done. Other Knee Hurts, Pain In All Joints, Unable To Stand. Taking Oxycodone, Paxil

six yrs ago I had a botched knee replacement so I understand it's pain. But now my other knee hurts just as much an in the last few months I have severe pain in all my other joints too and my hands are swollen in the a.m. I can barely get into a standing position and have to take baby steps when I first start to walk. One dr called it start up pain. Now I lie down most days. I am losing strength and am very depressed. I already take oxycodone it and Paxil as well as tiara dine at night. Also in the last six months I have developed uncontrolled leg muscle contractions. At first I thot it might fbe a side effect from the oxy but I haven't seen it mentioned. I don't have drowsiness or dizziness from the oxy. I still feel alert taking it. I'm afraid to take something stronger because of the dark feeling it gave me when I had my knee and shoulder replacements. My email is YYYY@YYYY . Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Thank you for your question.
The symptoms you having in your joints points towards inflammatory arthritis.

As you had shoulder and knee replacement then it seems you already known to have bad arthritis in your joints.

The tablets you are taking is mainly to ease pain but it may not settle the inflammation.

I will advise to do blood test to look for signs of inflammatory arthritis, if it is confirmed then you need to see rheumatologist to start you on appropriate medication.

Wish you get better soon.
