Knots On Knee That Shrink After Few Days, Hurts On Putting Pressure. Diagnosed To Be Scar Tissue. Concerning?
I have knots on my right knee they will get larger then shrink if I stay off my feet for a few days. If I kneel down or put pressure on the knee it hurts. A dr told me it was scar tissue but I don t believe it is because it spreads from one side to the other. Should I get it rechecked and is it something to be concerned about?
A history of knot like structures on the knee which shrink and re-appear, and are painful is most probably suggestive of some vascular disease process. like varicose veins.
Scar tissue is unlikley to shrink and reappear at intervals.
You need to get some investigations to know the cause of such swellings.
An ultrasound of the leg is required to know the origin of the lesion.
If it turns out to be due to dilatation of the veins, further doppler needs to be done.
Consult your doctor for clinical examination, investigations and management.
Thanks and take care
