Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Lactose Intolerance In Infant. Giving Nusobee And Mother Fed Alternatively. Motion And Gastritis Recurred. Remedy?
My daughter has lactose intolerance by birth. I was told that her levels of lactose intolerance are not high and she will be normal gradually. We are giving Nusobee Casein (milk powder for lactose intolerance babies) and mother feed alternatively. She was well for 3 months and now she is again having motions and heavy gastric problem. What could be the cause for recurrence of problem after 3 months? In fact the whole episode of recurrence started after the baby traveled out of station for one week.
I would like to know some more information about the baby like how old she is now and if she ate something apart from Nusobee and mothers milk when you travlled. It is usually seen that children get infected easily and especially while travelling because they are more exposed to infective bacteria and viruses in such circumstances. It is very common to acquire infection from water etc while travelling. This could be the cause of you problem. You should see a dcotr who can do some blood tests to confirm this. Meanwhile you continue on same diet.
