Lapidus Procedure Suggested For Deformed Foot. What Can I Expect?

An orthopaedic surgeon has recommended a lapidus procedure to correct my deformed left foot , and I m trying to find out about what to expect during recovery, how long it will take, etc. My employer will only give me six weeks sick leave: will that be enough? Also, I have two daughters getting married, one in Sept and the other in Dec. Will I be able to wear proper shoes by then? Thank you for your assistance.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
After a Lapidus procedure, you need to wear a cast for 4-6 weeks for proper healing followed by the physiotherapy exercises to regain the muscle strength and full joint movement. It is best if you could extend your leave by two more weeks.
