Large Multicystic Mass On The Perineal Region Extending To The Scrotal Region. Mass Has Low Signal Intensity

Hi could you please advice me regarding this report. My brother has Alarge oblong shaped multicystic mass measeures(15cmx 5cmx3cm) is seen in the perineal region, extending along both the anterior and posterior urogenital triangle, starting adjacent to urthra and perianal region posterioly, extending anterioraly through the perineal region to reach the scrotal region between the left and right testicles. The septae separting locules are thin and reveal low segnal intensity. No solid component can be identified. The mass has low signal intensity. The mass is separated from, but closely adherent the surrounding structures, anal canal and urethre. Thanks

Hello brother,
The way you have described the swelling by which your brother is suffering seems to be echoing scan report. The final word you have mentioned is The mass is separated from, but closely adherent the surrounding structures, anal canal and urethra is important. It should arise from any one layer of perineum
The layers and contents from superficial to deep:
1) Foreskin
2) superficial perineal fascia: Subcutaneous tissue divided into two layers: (a) A superficial fatty layer, and (b) Colles' fascia, a deeper, membranous layer.
3) deep perineal fascia and muscles:
In Echo scan - The low signal intensity and No solid component - cases in which septations, and solid areas of tumor are absent, it is difficult to detect signal for waveform analysis.
The mass is separated from the surrounding tissue - is a favorable point.
MRI to be done to arrive at a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Best wishes
