I have a very large painful lump on my left butt cheek, that follows down straight to my anus. It is so uncomfortable to sit down, move and walk. Ive had a hot water bottle on it all day and had red hot baths but its not helping. I also suffer with crohn s disease. Please do you have any idea what this could be as i cannot bear the pain much longer
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
With the history of Crohn's disease, the most likely diagnosis goes in favour of a perianal abscess. I would advise you to report to your treating physician or surgeon or to the ER of the nearest hospital at the earliest for a definitive diagnosis and management. Till that you could go for an anti inflammatory with a proton pump inhibitor to get some symptomatic relief.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
