Large Red Swelling On Inner Thigh, Turning Blackish, Slightly Itchy. Will It Go Away Itself ?
Hi, we have just holidayed in Spain and have returned to the UK and my wife thinks she must have been bitten by something as she had a large red swelling on her inner thigh appeared. That was 36 hours ago, it has now turned a blackish colour, like a bruise. she saw a pharmacist yesterday who gave her an anti histamine cream.
Does she need to see a doctor or is this ok and will sort itself out. No pain just discomfort and a bit itchy from time to time.

Your wife's reddish swelling has turned blackish seems to be healing. I think it will sort it out by itself, it will start getting fainter and start shrinking in size within a day or two, just symptpmatic treatment is required.
She may take anti histamine tablets for itching daily for a few days.
In case she feels more of discomfort or intense itching or pain , then you may have to see a doctor immediately.
