Large Swollen Area Between Neck And Shoulder. Family History Of Thyroid. Treatment?
I have very recently discovered a lemon-sized swollen area between my neck and shoulder . I am 64 years old, in very good health, but have thyroid issues on my mother s side of the family. I went to see my family doctor, yesterday, but he doesn't know what to make of this. Can you help? I would be most appreciative.

It could be Lymph node?
At this age any swelling should be thoroughly investigated / and that too as early as possible.
A general surgeon is the one to approach.
If in doubt, excision biopsy is the best solution.
