Hello,
First of all many congratulations for leaving the bad habit that has become the leading cause of oral cancers.
There are a wide variety of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions that lead to oral cancers caused by eating of gutkha, khaini, chuna and supari.
As a self examinations, first look for any oral ulcers, abraded mucosa(skin inside mouth), any white patches, or whiteness, softness/hardness of the oral cavity skin especially in cheeks, beneath the tongue, on
palate and the posterior most part of the roof. Any abnormality of any sort in the above specified area should be seriously evaluated.
An expert consultation of a
dentist always advisable.
One better advise for the people who have left the habit is if you feel to have some sort of
withdrawal symptoms of tobacco as feeling of low,
numbness in fingers,
anxiety, urge to take just once you can try for chewing gums available as NICOGUM 4 mg ....3 times per day to provide relief of any above. These chewing gums are very helpful in leaving the habit and preventing from taking up again(reversal). Then slowly reduce the dose.
Hope this would be very helpful.
