Leg Cramps, Sweating, Body Odor, Dry Tongue. Taking Estrodial, Oxycodone, Medrol. What To Do?

I am 55 years old, female, had back injections to L5 S1 under anesthesia with fluoroscope last week. He had a hard time getting to the spot he wanted, he said it may have been blocked by arthritis, etc. I am not sure this has anything to do with what is happening, this is just some history.

I have horrific cramps in my legs, feels like horrible Charlie horses and have to stand to urinate or my legs cramp up and force me to stand up. When I sleep, I have severe sweating (not just like hot flashes, but like someone threw a bucket of water on me). I take 2 mg Estrodial daily. My hair smells horrible and weird, I have body odor that smells funny, too, but this is not too strong. The center of the back of my throat/back of my tongue is dry and has been for over a week. I have jawbreakers (hard candy) or gum in my mouth most of the time, even while going to sleep. I take medication for blood pressure and water pills daily. I take oxycodone 30 mg QID for chronic pain, brachialplexopathy pain, etc. My Mom was falling about 1 1/2 weeks go, so I caught her, she is over 200 lbs. This was not the cause of the injections, etc. this is in addition to it. The doctor gave me a Medrol dose pack to start for the pain caused by her fall. I have not started it yet, he was waiting for a week after the back procedure for fear of giving me too many steroids at once. I am not sure if this problem is gynecological, neurological, or something else entirely. What should I do? Who should I call?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

All your symptoms from the given description points to a lumbar disc disease with nerve compression.

An MRI scan of the lumbar spine is necessary to establish the correct diagnosis.

Your charlie horse symptoms may also be related to the DIURETICs (water pills), which produces muscle cramps.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed workup and further management.

Hope this information is helpful.Good day
