Hello,
You are suffering from severe skin problems. Itching all over the body. You should take care of your hygiene. Stop sharing your toiletries and clothes. Wash your cloth and bedding (bed sheets, bed cover, etc.) in hot water frequently. Avoid food that triggers allergy. Stay away from animal dander, dust, paint, fumes, pollen, poison ivy, etc. Take antihistamine, at bed time to get relief. Wear loose cotton clothes, avoid wearing any ornaments to prevent trigger of the symptoms. Avoid use of perfumed body lotions or body products. Use water based herbal body lotions and antibacterial soaps.
You can apply ointment
hydrocortisone on the area affected to reduce itching. Since you have been prescribed
Medrol by your treating doctor, you can continue to take it. Medrol is Methy
prednisolone so you should gradually taper the doses as the symptoms reduce so that you are comfortable. Your symptoms should reduce but in case they are persistent, get clinically examined by a
dermatologist, you need to get
allergy tests, skin tests, biopsy(if required) done so that the factor causing the symptoms can be detected and treatment started at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
