Leg Feels Stiff When Walking. Recovering From Quad Bypass. Normal?
male, 58, 140 lbs, 67 inches. had cabg (quad bypass) on 10/11. recovering well. visiting nurse says lungs clear, heartbeat strong and steady. bp is good... watching diet,getting exercise each day (walking). have to pace myself and go slower and occasionallly experience sob. my ? is about my left leg. they harvested the veins from the right knee area, but i find my left leg feels stiff when walking...is that normal?
Thanks for your health concerns. One of the things that may need to be ruled out, which is very frequent in patients with blocked arteries of the heart, are blocked arteries of the legs, which tend to manifest with symptoms during walking. There is a very simple screening test called ABI that your doctor may want to order to look at the arteries of your leg, it is non invasive and can tell us if there may be an obstruction.
