Light Bleeding For 2 Days Followed By Brown Discharge, Tender Breasts, Pregnancy Test Positive. History Of Surgical Abortion 2 Weeks Back. Normal?
Hiya, I had an abortion 2 weeks and 4 days ago I had about 2 days of very light bleeding and the rest was just brown discharge. My breast are still slightly tender to touch no morning sickness or anything but I never had that before the abortion! I was 6 weeks along! I'm still getting a positive pregnancy test is this normal?! Also it was a surgical abortion.
Following abortion, serum beta-HCG level usually comes back to normal within 1-4 weeks. Light bleeding is quite common after surgical abortion up to 2 weeks. Other reasons are hormonal imbalance, stress, pelvic / vaginal infection, unnoticed polyp etc. You need to consult with gynecologist for follow up examination with USG scan. Take suggestive measures accordingly. Maintain genital hygiene and avoid stress. Be well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
