Hello, jey10june2005,
Thank you for contacting HCM with your quiery.
You are Hepatitis-B antigen positive and your liver
enzymes and protein levels are pretty much normal.
Your
prothrombin time is elevated. You are not on any
blood thinners and this could be a laboratory error.
Occasionally ,INR may be mildly elevated if someone
is taking
Paracetamol ( Tylenol). This is rare.
If you are deficient in Vitamin-K , this could elevate
your protrombin time.
You have had Hepatitis now for about two months.
I would like you to have your Hepatitis-B
antibodies tested.
You can also check
Hepatitis B virus DNA levels.
Essentially , you want to make sure that your hepatitis is
not becoming Chronic . If the enzyme levels stay abnormal
even after 6 months , then it is
chronic hepatitis. At this stage
after further workup , a person may need treatment with special
drugs.
Hope this helps you.
I wish you well.
