Loose Motions After Drinking Similas Formula. Having Rice Water, Mashed Potato, Curd, Banana, Aptamil HN25. Medication?

Hi there I have baby who is just a month away from turning to a one year old. Since past 4 to 5 days he has been having loose motions only after drinking Similac formula
I have stopped the solids foods and now currently i am only feeding him starcy food like rice water, mashed potatoes, curd, bananas.
I have changed his formula milk to Aptamil HN25 which is designed for babies who have diarrhea.
I would like to know how long will the loose motion go on and is there any othr better way to stop it any medications. He does not like pedialyte solution i tried to give him
i am living in The middle east Kuwait
Thank you

dear user
if your baby developed diarrhea every time after having similac formula means your child is sensitive to that . its good that u have changed it .
don't worry . no need to give any medication .
2 . take care of dehydration .
3 . home made fluid is good to give .
4 . add ors solution also . orange flavor is good one
5 . diarrhea will get stop itself .
6 . u can give probiotic also .
if diarrhea continues for long time consult with doctor .

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic
usually the diarrhea is due to rota virus infection in children
it is self limited subsides of its own within 5 days
you give a probiotic like sporolac or saccharomyces bulardi
curd and buttermilk are good prebiotics
antibiotics are not needed
conyinue with your usual diet
Hope this answer will serve your purpose

any ors you can offer to your baby.vegetable soup, coconut water, pulses also act like ors so you can offer these to your baby if he is not interested in pedialyte. If loose stool is being caused by similac formula thn stop it all together.your baby might be allergic to its one or more components.why you have stopped semisolid feeding.continue with it.in loose stool you should never stop normal feeding of your baby.choicw of milk is yours whichever suits you best and your child is able to digest go for it.but keep giving him semisolid food.keep a check on babys hydration like he is passing urine normally and taking oral feeds properly.if not so plz have an expert consultation.
