Loss Of Hearing After Slapping Ear. Permanent Hearing Loss?
I slapped myself in the ear, afterwards i had some loss of hearing i could still hear but it was like a flat dead sound. like when i touch it it almost sounds like an infection in the ear drum. I am sure as hard as i slapped myself i had to of done some damage. Will the hearing loss be permanent. Or is it just going to be a dead sound for a day or two. And should I go see a physician.
Hi thanks for your question.
Hearing loss following a slap could be due to perforation of ear drum.
This hearing loss is temporary and will subside once ear drum perforation get healed.Consultation with an ENT specialist is advisible to confirm ear drum perforation as a cause for hearing loss.
Hope this answers your question.
Hello,
when you slap on ear, there is a chance of the ear drum to get ruptured and bleed. After ear drum ruptures, there can be some hearing loss. This can be repaired by tympanoplasty and hearing loss can be reduced. The middle ear and inner ear system has also is to be checked for complete assessment. consult an ENT surgeon .
