Low Fever, Achiness, Feels Like Swollen Gland On The Neck, No Swelling. What Could This Be?
I have been feeling achy on and off for about a week. Every time I check my temperature it is normal but it feels like I am coming down with something. Last night I did have a low grade fever and felt very achy. Also, on and off along with the achiness I have had some discomfort like a swollen gland in my neck on the right side near my adam s apple. No visible swelling . No other symptoms and Advil always helps. What could this be and why isn t it going away?
You might be having a viral infection; probably glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis) which is caused by the Epstein- Barr virus. The treatment is usually supportive and symptomatic, with rest, drinking plenty of fluids, Salt water gargling, Paracetamol. Avoid close oral contact/kissing as there might be a chance of spreading the virus. You might get better in another 1-2 weeks. However, if you feel no symptomatic improvement or worsening of symptoms, please visit your doctor immediately.
Hi,fever is the symptoms of a body's fight against infection.it is one of the most common features of several diseases.the real cause of fever is the accmulation of morbid matter in the system due to wrong feeding habbits and unhygenic conditions of living.first, you should go for complete blood test, urine and blood_uria test.you should take the leaves of tulsi is the most effective of these remedies.a decoction made of about 12 grams of these leaves, boiled with half a litre of water, should be administered with milk, sugar and powdered cardamom.this will bring down the temperature.a tea made from methi seeds is also reducing fevers and also reduce the swollen part in neck region.you should take well_balanced diet.take care
