Lower Abdominal Pain, Had Uterus Removed, Had Prolapse In Bladder. Is Mesh Causing Pain?
Had my uterus removed in 2009 because of a prolapse issue, they raised by bladder as well. They inserted the wire mesh. I have not had a problem until recently where I feel pressure and have had pain in my lower abdomen, I feel like I did prior to having the surgery. Could the wire mesh be causing this? I have heard many things about it and I talked to by gyno who did it (although I wasn't having issues with it then) and basically he said yes there can be some issues with some people, Any advice on what could be happening?
Good day! I would think that the mesh may be causing the problems. But i would rule out other causes of the pain bu investigating the lower abdominal pain. Blood examinations and ct scans may be in order to be sure where are not dealing with other problems. I would suggest getting an appointment with your Gyne surgeon to see what he thinks about the pain. I am sure he has alot of experience with the mesh that he placed to hold your bladder up. The mesh is usually well tolerated and does not cause pain but you may have been in the minority of cases that it caused pain and discomfort. Thank You.
