Hi. I took an ipill for just precaution sake.though I dont think it was need.my periods have been overdue by 8 days now.i took a preganancy test twice 1 a day after missed and 2nd one after days of my date but it was negative.m worried.i have slight menstrual cramp like pain in my lower abdomen but I dnt get periods Is this a cause for alarm? How many more days would it take for periods to occur
If the pregnancy tests are showing negative results, then pregnancy can be ruled out. Keeping in consideration that you have done the test twice, the chances of error are less. However, further confirmation can be done by blood HCG test.
The delay in periods and lower abdominal pain can be attributed to hormonal imbalance in the body or Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). As i pill has a high hormonal content, it is known to cause irregularity in the menstrual cycle.
So, please consult a Gynecologist for further management.
Investigations like complete blood count & Ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis will be helpful in detecting any pathology.
Wishing you a good health. Thanks ans take care.
