Lower Back Pain With Cramps And Brown Discharge. On Birth Control. Any Thoughts?
I am on APRI birth control. I have been for a little over a year. I have never had any problems until this morning. I have lower back pain some cramps..and a brownish discharge.. it was there this morning but is now starting to go away..what is it? cysts? pregnancy? Thank you!
Hello Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. I would come up with these possibilities for these symptoms , these includes. 1 Pelvic inflammatory disease , as you are complaining that there is brown discharge and pain in back .So these symptoms may be due to PID. Diagnosis can be confirmed by vaginal swab examination . 2 Lumbo -sacral spine disease , this is the most common cause , diagnosis can be confirmed by C T scan of L4- 5 sacrum region. 3 Urinary tract infection or U T I . Diagnosis can be confirmed by urine culture .This is most common cause of mild degree pain in back as well lower abdominal cramps . In my opinion consult a gynecologist and get his opinion. No chance of any cyst or pregnancy ( as you are taking birth pill ) Good luck. Dr. HET
