Lump Near Zyphoid Process. Soreness. What Is The Treatment?
I just discovered a lump a little larger than an inch in diameter near my zyphoid process, but not on it or attached to it. It is located slightly below the round bottom rib and to the right of the zyphoid process. Probably near where my stomach is located. It is sore now because I've been trying to determine what it is and probably have been a little too rough with it. It moves and is better felt when I sit or stand.
THE SITE OF THE LUMP SUGGESTS THAT IT COULD BE A LIPOMA( A NON MALIGNANT COLLECTION OF FAT CELLS). THERE IS USUALLY NO MEDICAL OR SURGICAL INTERVENTION NEEDED IN MAJORITY OF THE CASES. STILL THE DIAGNOSIS CAN BE MADE BY A SIMPLE FNAC BY THE PATHOLOGIST. ONLY IN CASES, APART FOR COSMETIC REASONS, SURGICAL REMOVAL CAN BE PLANNED IF IT PAINS AND INCREASES IN SIZE FREQUENTLY. REGARDS
