Hello,
Thank you for contacting HCM with your quiery.
I am glad to hear that your Crohn's disease is
in remission with
Humira therapy. I sincerely hope
you continue to do well. Unfortunately about 5% of
patients with Crohn's develop skin complications.
These include painful lumps called
Erythema Nodosum
which affectes the shin, elbows and sometimes arms.
From your description , these may be present.
As for
rash and petechia , these may be related to
certain vitamin deficiencies associated with malabsrption
from Crohn's. I am sure your doctors have advised you
to take supplemental Vit-D , Multiple vitamins etc. along
with a healthy diet. 1000 mg. of Vit-C daily would be
helpful. If you have not had a recent
complete blood count,
get that along with a
platelet count. Humira is associated
with serious infections ,fungal,T.B. etc. Also some types
of Lymhomas. I am sure your doctors have tested you
prior to starting Humira.
I wish you the very best.
