Lump On The Knee Cap. Diagnosed As A Non Malignant Tumor. Shooting Pain In The Leg. Need Biopsy?

Hello, I noticed a small lump on my upper left knee cap about 15 years ago, I had a doctor look at it and was told it was a non- malignant tumor. In the last couple of years it has grown to the size of a pea, it is very hard, and when I bump it I have shooting pains up and down my leg( like when you hit your funny bone) . it also has a dull ache sometimes when I am just sitting down. I am a 29 year old female.. I am concerned it may be worse now. It has never had a biopsy done on it. Should I be concerned?

Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read your question.

If swelling over knee cap has recently increased in size & more painful ,then you should be concerned. You should have biopsy to confirm the nature of this swelling.

Hope this will help you.
