Lung Cancer. Unable To Walk, Behaving Abnormal. Suggestion?
My dad just turned 84 yesterday and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has gone into his bones (his spine ) about 3 weeks ago. We find he is getting confused about a lot of things and saying things he normally wouldn t say. He is seeing things on the walls in the room he is in and is sometimes saying mean things. He is not listening to drs and nurses and gets up and falls because he wants to leave the facility however due to the cancer in his spine he is unable to walk without falling. No one has advised us if this is normal behavior with state 4 cancer and we don t know what to do about it. We are having to stay with him at the facility all day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. because of the way he is acting towards everyone. Any suggestions and/or can you tell me if you have seen this before?
Hi,
lung cancer as already spread to bone so there is a high chance of involvement of other organ also like liver brain, as your dad not listening to his doctor's direction, feels inattentive. probably he has developed brain metastasis, other chance is decreased sodium concentration in blood . there is treatment available for both the condition, consult your oncologist.
