MRI Done. What Does The Result Mean? Anything To Worry?
What does all of this mean? I've had 2 ESWL, 1 in June and another in July this year. Recent US shows the following...I am having pain in my right flank radiating down to my low back wrapping around to my right hip. x-rays are negative...do I need a CT or MRI to determine what to do with the cysts? Are my kidney size within normal limits?
The right kidney measures 9.6 cm in length. Echogenic foci at the cortical medullary junction of the mid and lower portion of the kidney may represent residual calcifications. There is no hydronephrosis. No renal mass. No perinephric fluid collections.
The left kidney measures 11.2 cm in length. Outline is smooth. No mass or hydronephrosis. In the central echo complex there are two parapelvic cysts, 6 x 5 x 5 mm and 9 x 7 x 7 mm.
You shouldn't worry. Your kidney size is absolutely normal. In Right kidney, there is residual calcifications after ESWL.You should consult urologist for this. Other findings are normal in right kidney. In Left kidney, there are two small Para pelvic cysts and these are generally asymptomatic.Other findings in left kidney are also normal.
I don't think you need further investigations like CT Scan or MRI.Treatment can be done on the basis of these findings. Drink plenty of water. Get well soon.
