MRI Of Lumbar Spine Done. Can This Be Treated Without Undergoing Surgery?
Hi, I have been just detected with a slip disc on lumber. I like to know whether this can be cured with exercise or I need to go under surgery. Pasting my report below
MRI LUMBAR SPINE MRI lumbar spine was performed by acquiring T1 and T2-weighted axial and sagittal images. Lumbar vertebrae show normal height and alignment. No focal vertebral lesion is seen. The normal lumbar lordosis is lost. Bony canal canal narrowing is noted L3 downwards. Mild early degenerative disc desiccation is seen at L4-5 and L5-S1. At L4-L5 level, posterocentral and left paracentral disc protrusion is evident aggravating the canal narrowing causing mild to moderate thecal sac compression. There is effacement of the left lateral recess seen at this level. The exiting L4 nerve roots look normal. No significant thecal sac compression is seen at any other level. The conus is normal. No significant ligamenta flava thickening is seen. Minimal facet joint effusion is seen at 4-5 and L5-S1 levels. The paraspinal soft tissues look normal. IMPRESSION Degenerative lumbar spine changes with loss of normal lumbar lordosis. Early disc desiccation is seen at L4-5 and L5-S1. Bony canal narrowing is seen L3 downwards. At L4-L5 level, posterior central and left paracentral disc protrusion is noted either within the canal narrowing causing mild to moderate thecal sac compression. There is effacement of the left lateral recess. Exiting L4 nerve roots look normal. No significant thecal sac compression is seen at any other level. Minimal facet joint effusion at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels
