MRI Showed, Ventricles , CSF Spaces Are Symmetric, No Evidence Of Infarct Or Hemorrhage. Need To Worry?

My husband's MRI showed "the ventricles and CSF spaces are symmetrically prominent, compatible with diffuse volume loss greater than expected for age. There are a few scattered areas of increased T2 signal seen within deep white matter; these are not increased in number for age (which is 76). There is no evidence of recent infarct or prior hemorrhage. No Chiari malformation. No abnormal extraaxial collection identified. Major flow voids are present.

Anything to worry about?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your report suggests that,
1.The ventricles and CSF spaces are symmetrically prominent, compatible with diffuse volume loss greater than expected for age.
This suggests that he has cerebral cortical atrophy.Atrophy is normal finding that progresses with age but in his case atrophy is more than expected compared to his age.

2.There is T2 hyperintensity in deep white matter of brain and it is expected considering his age.

3.Other findings are within normal limit and he has no infarct or hemorrhage. There is also no abnormal collection.
