MRSA. Took Cyclosporine Which Increased BP, Fentanyl Patch And Hydrocodone. Advice?
I have had pyoderma gangrenosum for almost exactly one year. It was almost completely healed in April but I got a case of MRSA in my leg and it flared up again. I recently got MRSA again in the same spots on my leg and this time It was antibiotic resistant and I had to go on even stronger antibiotics. The doctors put me on Cyclosporin 3 x a day but my BP went to 220/110. I had to go back to one pill a day and my bp is starting to come down but the pain from the pyo had increased to being a 10 most of the time. I am on 25mg fentanyl patch and hydrocodone 10/325 for pain and it isn't touch it. Any ideas? I am supposed to be seen by drs at Duke in 10 days if I can make it.
You will need an evaluation for this condition. Knowing whether you were not hypertensive before taking the drug is also of utmost importance. Doing generally sensitivity tests to ascertain the adapted antibiotics that work for those infections of very important.
I suggest you consult your physician for a proper clinical review, prioritization and drawing up of a keen follow up plan after modification of your treatment. remember that modifying treatment could easily lead to withdrawal symptoms in some cases, which should be identified and dealt with accordingly.
Thanks and kind regards,
Bain LE, MD.
