Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Blood in urine can be from any where in the
urinary tract including kidneys, ureters,
urinary bladder and urethra.
Any way blood in urine could be viewed as serious condition and management is necessary.
If the blod clot in urine is in diffrent shape, it may be due to bleeding in urethra or prostate,
If it is worm like, it may be due to bleeding in ureter.
If you have bleeding at beginning of urination, it is most likely from urethra (tube connecting bladder to outside)
If you have blood in urine, it is most likely from kidney, bladder, or Ureter ( tube connecting kidney and bladder).
How ever most common cause is infection and stones.
Stones are commonly associated with
abdominal pain.
You do not have any abdominal pain and your
ultrasound and X-Ray is also normal.
So stones we can rule out stones.
Blood in the urine in anyone over the age of 45, especially in people who smoke, should warrant full urologic evaluation because the most common cause of blood in the urine in this group of people is
bladder cancer.
Thus you need full urological evaluation.
You need some more investigations to be done.
1. Urine routine ( Urine Analysis )
2. Urine culture and sensitivity
3.
Cystoscopy and tissue may be taken for biopsy
If it is a infection, Antibiotics will be prescribed.
Please review with reports to an
urologist.
Hope this helps.
If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
