Male,experiencing Difficulty In Swallowing.Suggest Medication

My bf has had difficulty swallowing food since childhood. He is now 42. He chokes on food and even saliva with no food involved. He has choked to the point of passing out. He does not have med insurance and has not had it checked out. He wants to go but cannot afford specialists. Ideas on what it may be? He must move his adams apple to swallow. It does not appear to hurt him otherwise.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to health care magic,

If he has this problem only recently then you have nothing to worry about. he may have an infection or a reflux. In any case do these:
-take a course of anti reflux medication like pantoprazole
-take only bland non oily and non spicy food
-drink plenty of warm water
-do not speak or strain while eating

In any case if nothing works you must consider an Upper GI endoscopy and get back to me or any ENT with the report

hope this helps
