Mammography Showed Dense Breast Tissue With No Sign Of Breast Cancer. Explain
I m 78. I just had a mammography and got the report of the exam result. It says that the results of your recent exam show no sign of breast cancer. ...... . Your mammogram shows that your breast tissue is dense. Dense breast tissue is common and is not abnormal. However, dense breast tissue can make it harder to evaluate the results of your mammogram and may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. This information about the results of your mammogram is given to you to raise your awareness and to inform your conversation with your doctor. Together. you can decide which screening options are right for you. My question is what dense breast tissue means and how it s risky.
I read carefully your query. Dense breast is a common radiologic sign in many women most common in menstruant women than in postmenopausal. Anyway you should do breast ultrasound at a radiologyst to explore and to correlate for any lesion. If every thing will be okay you should not disturb but should do check up every year with mamography and breast ultrasound. Is not any report who give any correlation with dense breast and increased risk for breast cancer.
Wishing you all best.
