Mandibular Joint Pain, Jaw Pain, Sternal Heart Area Pain, Ruled Out Heart Attack. Is It Trigeminal Nerve?

In 2005 I started with a sharp pain from my mandibular joint by my right ear. It started going down my jaw halfway the first time; at the same time I felt a sharp pain in my left sternal heart area. It lasted maybe 10-15 seconds. it was during the daytime, while I was on hold on the phone. It occurs 3 or 4 times a year. It has progressed further each time. Last night it occurred again, Came down the right jaw under my lips and felt it in the sternal heart area and through to my back. It lasted maybe 30 seconds. It has never been through my back. My family Dr and Cardiologist couldn t tell me anything. They did test to see If I had a heart attack in the pass. They were negative. I made an appointment with a neurologist for this week. I was reading and thought maybe trigeminal nerve but would you feel it in the heart and back area. I am a nurse and am tired of not getting any inform my doctor. I think I clench my teeth hard at night because on the top right side I have no teeth in the back and occasionally it does get Irritated.

Hi!
Yes after ruling out the heart attack one of the most probable causes of jaw pain is trigeminal neuralgia.
To rule in this diagnosis I suggest a neurologic consultation
Hope i answered your query?
