Marble Sized Painful Bump Above Left Collar Bone, Sensitive To Touch. Is It From Pacemaker Wire ?
I had a marble sized bump appear above my left collar bone that was very painful and sensitive to touch. It is near where the wires from my pacemaker go up under the color bone and down to my heart. I wonder if the bump is caused by irritation from the wires. I have already gotten treatment for this condition at a hospital today. The ER doctors had no immediate answer for me.
Dear sir/ Madam Thanks for your query. A marble size swelling which is pain and tender may be associated with irritation by pacemaker wires although chances are very slim. It depends upon the duration for which wires are there, exact site of insertion etc. There are other more common causes like a swollen lymph gland. It requires an examination and at times investigation to ascertain the cause. It surely needs to be investigated. Sincerely Sukhvinder
