Migraine, High Blood Pressure. Taking Medications For Chronic Pain Due To Ruptured Discs. Do Medications Affect Blood Pressure?

Hello, I had a migraine yesterday, I normally suffer with high blood pressure for which I take Atacand. I took my blood pressure yesterday (sitting down relaxing and numerous times) the best reading I could get was 16/100 103 bpm, is it fair to say I need my medication reviewed. I had a 30ml morphine injection along with Ondansetron and Dexamethasone for the migraine. The blood pressure testing took place about 4-5 hours after the injections. I'm a 50yo female. I also take Kapanol 2x100mg in the morning for chronic pain ( 8 ruptured discs C2,C3,C4, L3,L4, T4,T5,T6). These are the only medications I take (that's plenty).

Hello

Thanks for the query

Your blood pressure is not under control, you will have to be on a hypertensive which also bring down the heart rate, atenolol or metoprolol are good examples.
However I would like to add here that increase in heart rate and blood pressure could also be because of the pain itself, so please get the blood pressure checked again when you are not in pain before starting on anti hypertensives.
Continue taking the migraine medications as prescribed

I hope I was of help

Regards
