Missed Period For A Year Followed By Black Blood Bleeding. Lower Abdominal Pain. Possible Ovarian Cancer?

My girlfriend, has not had her period in about a year, which is normal for her. She has went to a doctor for this, and they have said everything was fine. But 2 weeks she got what we thought was her period but she bled black blood, it only lasted 3 days then she stopped bleeding. It never turned red. But after her so called period, she started having lower abdominal pain really bad, she said it made her just want to crawl up into a ball. Is this anything to be concerned about? We are terrified it could be ovarian cancer

Hello sir and welcome.

This is not a sign of cancer, it could either be a much delayed period or the sign of an infection or inflammatory condition. I would advise a physical examination and ultrasound investigation of her abdomen and pelvis to make sure all is well.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
