Missing Period After Appendix Operation, Bleeding After Sex. Is This Due To Operation?

I had my Appendix removed a week before I was supposed to get my period and I did not get my period for that whole month is it possible the surgery messed with my menstruation cycle? Also, after my surgery like a week and a half after I had sex with my boyfriend but I started bleeding which has never happened to me before, could that be because of the operation as well?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Yes, stress and strain due to surgery and the medicines used during and after surgery can affect the hormonal levels leading to menstrual irregularity.
The post-coital may not be because of surgery.
That can be due to post-coital tear or due to some local lesions.
So you once consult gynecologist and take tablets for withdrawal bleeding and get examined to find out the cause for bleeding.
