Moderate Swelling, Bruising After Rolled My Ankle. Tingling At Foot Bottom. X-ray Can Be Taken Now?

Rolled my ankle 4 days ago. Moderate swelling over lateral malleolus with significant bruising from high ankle down to midfoot laterally and small half dollar ruising posteriorally over medial malleolus. Point tender. Did not have X-rays. Is it too late for x-rays? Continue to have some tingling over bottom of foot.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

With history of trauma, Better to get X-ray of ankle joint lateral view and oblique view to check for any bone fracture. You should taken X-ray after trauma, but even now X-ray can be taken to check for fracture and correction. If there are no bone fracture, your ankle needs to be immobilized for some time in correct position to heal ligament injury. So consult your orthopedic surgeon for examination and further management.

Hope this helps you
