Moderate To Severe Lower Abdomen Pain That Worsens During Bowel Movement

I have been having moderate to severe pain in my lower abdomen for the past couple of days, and the pain is excruciating when during a bowel movement. As I am passing a stool, I have severe sharp pains in my lower abdomen that make me cringe, and I have to press into my lower abdomen in order to complete a bowel movement. Please help me. What is going on? Do I need to visit the ER?

As per your query, you have sharp and severe pain in the abdomen while defecation. Pain in lower abdomen is usually due to some problems in the large intestine. You didn't mention whether you have any constipation or not or any bleeding or mucus discharge par rectum. Kindly also mention your age also. Because in different age groups first diagnosis is different. eg. in Children pain during defecation can be due to disease of small intestine also. You should also get your inguinal and umblical regions checked by some physician to rule out any inguinal or umblical herniation.
