Mouth Pain, Hurts When Upper Teeth Touches Them, Have Broken Tooth With Huge Hole, Swollen. Is Teeth Infected? Advice?
hello i'm 28 years old the last 2 days i have been experiencing mouth pain in the bottom of my left side of mouth. it hurts when my upper teeth touch them and my jaw on the left side hurts. I have a broken tooth there with a pretty huge hole in it that i have had for years...Could my teeth be infected? My side feels swollen also. Any advice?
Hi, It seems that your carious teeth is infected giving rise to swelling, pain on that side. This infection leads to enlarge lymph nodes below jaw giving pain and swelling. Consult your dentist and go for one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines course. After infection cleared your dentist might advice to go for Root Canal Treatment. Ok and take care.
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, Your pain seems to be related to one or more teeth, if there is cavity in tooth the infection can always go inside and produce carries with small abscess with nerve roots involvement it is really very painful. You must consult a Dental Surgeon/ Endodontist to examine your mouth with special x ray done called OPG( Orthopantogram) which will give clear picture of your pathology. Analgesics and anti inflammatory drugs with proper antibiotics will be required and depending on condition of tooth either urgent Root canal treatment or extraction of infected tooth will be required. Hope this helps. Take care. Good Luck Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
as per your dental history its obvious that you are having chronic dental caries .due to this caries you are suffering from pain .therefore visit an endodontist get yourself treated ...in the start with a course of antibiotic along with combination of analgesic plus anti-inflamatory drug .. get well soon ...take care
Your broken tooth has developed infection, pain along with swelling indicates infection in the tooth atht had spread to the periapical tissues leading to abscess formation.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentist and get the x-ray done the toth will either go for root canal treatment or extraction depending upon the x-ray.
Take complete course of antibiotics and analgesics under prescription of your Dentist. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
hi... thanks for the query... when infection of the tooth reach periapical areas, then any pressure or touch over the infected tooth causes pain... visit your dentist and go for its radio-graphic examination... you should go for its root canal treatment according to its need... if the hole is quite big that cannot be restored, then you can go for post and core, after RCT... hope it will help you... take care...
the whole in your teeth shows that they are decayed and the swelling indicates of the abscess in the tooth.get an xray done for that area and consult a n endodontist for root canal treatment. meanwhile you can take antibiotics like amoxicillin and analgesics like etodolac hope it helps
Hi, Welcome to HCM forum, As per your details, it seems your broken is infected and periapical abscess has formed. Due to this pain and swelling has developed. Treatment for this is root canal so consult dentist for radiographical examination. Follow antibiotic prescription and maintain oral hygiene. take care
