Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Need Surgery, Afraid Of Side Effects. Any Ideas?
Hello I have mutiple chemical sensitivity and in need of surgery I am afraid i won t make it because of the side effects of the meds to be put under. I don t have a goood doctor that knows very much about mcs and I do alot of reading on the internet i don t work anymore and stay at home alot do to exposures Have any ideas on what meds they could use for surgery

Wish you had included more details about the situation. What is the proposed surgery for you? To what chemicals are you actually sensitive? Does the list of chemicals include anesthetic agents, antibiotics or cleansing agents used for preparing the skin for surgery?
It is not difficult to find out if you are allergic to the drugs going to be used in your surgery/post operative period. You must discuss this point with your surgeon and anesthetist (the doctor who gives you anesthesia). They will make a list of probable drugs/chemicals to be used for your specific case. Thereafter, you could find out if you are allergic to any of those. If so, go back to your surgeon/anesthetist and choose alternative medicines.
