Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A recent muscle biopsy has shown occasional atrophic fibre and occasional rounded Hypertrophic fibres, i have cleared levels of 300. I am housebound due to ME so not much activity, although I do have a two year old so i don't just sit down all day, could the muscle biopsy results be a early indication of muscle disease... Biopsy was clear for myositis and vasculitis
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The presence of atrophic muscle fibers on a muscle biopsy is a normal finding. Since any other disorders and inflammation has been ruled out, there is nothing to worry. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
