My 11year Old Daughter Broke Her Fifth Metatarsal Two Weeks

My 11year old daughter broke her fifth metatarsal two weeks ago. She has been given a brace with a hard shoe to west and crutches. Her follow up ten days after the break showed on X-ray the bone had moved but had started to fuse together. The foot has a bulge to the side very obvious when viewed from the sole of the foot. There was quite a lot of swelling still present at the checkup and it was decided she should return in 4 was to see how it is healing. With a view to possibly breaking the bone agai shaving the Bon and pinning it in 6 months if it is causing discomfort. She has returned to school but is only having lessons on the ground floor tonight she has complained of getting pins and needles in her foot on and off throughout the day. Is this a good or bad sign? What can Zi do to help her. She has been told yo keep the leg brace on even in bed.
