My 67 year old husband is getting sudden extremely sharp pain that runs from the back of his neck to his ear. It takes his breath away and he is unable to move until the pain subsides. It usually ends in a few seconds but tonight it took a couple of minutes. Could this be a pinched nerve in his neck? It usually occurs on his right side so he can't look that way but he can turn to the left.
